Nikon SB-800 with GF Lightsphere II CLOUD with dome

Direct flash, head straight forward with a Lightsphere CLOUD and its dome on.

The Lightsphere keeps on diffusing the light plenty but, still not what you may want to do for a close-up portrait.

Only shoot straightforward and without dome when in exteriors, when you have to balance powerful sunlight.

Straight forward flash

With the flash head with Lightsphere at 60 degrees (with dome), the very apparent shadows in the previous shot fade a lot this time; however contrast decreases.

A bit hot at the top for a shot at this distance. Not recommended.

At 60 degrees

Light is much better when bouncing from the ceiling straight upwards at 90 degrees with the Lightsphere diffuser.

Darn good when with the dome on.

The color of the vase in that area simulates a fair complexion. So this is when the CLOUD works at its best.

At 90 degrees

Comments

The GF Lightsphere II does its best at diffusing flash light when with its dome on and at 90 degrees, for short distances as above. As mentioned before, the CLOUD works splendidly for fair complexions. For greater distances or darker complexions, the CLEAR will then be your best tool for the job. Can these result be further improved?
