SB-800 with GF Lightsphere II CLEAR, with dome |
Direct
flash, head straight forward now with a Lightsphere
CLEAR but this time with its dome on.
The
Lightsphere diffuses the light plenty but, still not
what you may want to do for a close-up portrait. |

|
With
the flash head with Lightsphere at 60 degrees (with dome),
the very apparent shadows in the previous shot again fade
a bit although not that much; contrast decreases.
Too
hot at the top for a shot at this distance. Not recommended. |

|
Light
is much better when bouncing from the ceiling straight upwards
at 90 degrees with the Lightsphere diffuser. Using the
dome as recommended for short distances.
Darn
good but the
shinny spot at the top of the vase is not completely
gone.
The
color of the vase in that area simulates a fair complexion.
So this is when the CLOUD should used instead. |

The
GF Lightsphere II does its best at diffusing flash
light when with its dome on and at 90 degrees, for short
distances as above. However, if the subject has a fair complexion
you
will be
better off with the CLOUD than with the CLEAR. For greater
distances or darker complexions, the CLEAR will then be your
best tool for the job.
