SB-800 without its OEM dome |
i-TTL
doing its excellent job to balance the light even with
direct flash with its head straight forward and no dome.
Not
what you may want to do for a close-up portrait. |
|
|
With the flash head at 60 degrees, the shadows
in the previous shot fade a bit, contrast decreases.
Still
a bit too hot at the top for a shot at this distance. Not
recommended. |

Light
is much better when bouncing from the ceiling straight upwards
at 90 degrees.
However
still too hot due to not using at least a dome. |

Comments
If
you are planning to use flash, try not to forget your
dome. If your flash doesn't have a dome, at the very least
get a Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce for it, although there are better
alternatives
as you will see in following rows.
