Nikonians is pleased to present its Best of Nikonians - 2011 Images Photo Contest, open to all Silver, Gold and Platinum Nikonians Members. All entries are judged by a panel of expert Nikonians photographers, who cast their vote on the photographs received within a given period. The decisions of the judges are final.

Nikonians, in an effort to promote and recognize as many talented photographers as possible, whose images serve to share, learn and inspire us all, is now expanding its contest format as follows:

II.	Nature	Open to any subject found in nature
III.	HDR	Open to any subject - High Dynamic Range processed images
IV.	B&W	Open to any subject - grayscale images, either native or converted

All Silver, Gold and Platinum Members are eligible to participate in any and all theme categories, and may submit ONE image per member, per category, by uploading to the respective Contest Gallery setup for this purpose.

Fostering participation in the nikonians.org Online Assignments and forums' Challenges, the exception to the above rule is category I. Challenges, where members may submit their best image for each and all Assignments and Challenges in which they participate during the year, before the end of the submission deadline*, and ONE image per member, per category, in each and all of the other three categories. This opportunity for multiple submissions is open to all Silver, Gold and Platinum Nikonians members.

At the end of the year, members of the Nikonians Masters Society, composed of outstanding professionals and distinguished advanced amateur photographers around the world, will select among the 15 (fifteen) top-rated images of each and all categories the First Place Category Winner and 2 (two) Category Honorable Mentions.

There will be Nikonians Certificates of Photographic Achievement and prizes awarded for each of the total of 12 Category Winners.

Winners for each Category will be announced and awarded during the second half of November 2011.

Not only the three winners per category, but the top rated 10 (ten) images from each category will move on to the Finals.

No more than 2 weeks later, the Grand Prize Winner and 2 (two) Finals Honorable Mentions will be selected from the 40 top rated images as overall winners of the Best of Nikonians - 2011 Images Photo Contest, who will receive the Nikonians Certificate of High Photographic Achievement and prizes, in addition to the prizes they may have won in the above mentioned categories. Nikonians will also award the Grand Prize Winner and the two finals' Honorable Mentions each with a one year Nikonians Gold Membership.

Finals' awards and prizes will be announced and awarded in the first half of December, 2011

The finals winners images are displayed prominently for the community and will also be announced in The Nikonian eZine and our Nikonians Newsletter. The First Place Winner image of the Best of Nikonians 2011 Images photo Contest will be the cover of an eZine.
