I joined Nikonians in April 2004 and over the years I've learned so much from my fellow Nikonians it is my honor to serve as a moderator in the hope I can serve the Nikonian community as well as those before me. I have a long standing passion for my manual focus film Nikon's and have learned to embrace digital. Nikonians has given me the direction and confidence to accept jobs shooting weddings and parties on the side and do some stock work. I was a Navy Corpsman and served with pride at sea and with the US Marines, now I work in a small hospital here in Memphis TN. My greatest accomplishment is being a single father of a 17 year old girl starting her new life at the University of Memphis. Oh yeah, she is a Nikon user like her dad.

I found Nikonians in February 2003, but I’ve been a “Nikonian” since the early 1980’s when I borrowed my mom’s Nikkormat for a school project. My first SLR was a used 1979-vintage Nikon EL-2, which I still have. Since I found Nikonians, I’ve found it easy to stay creative by sharing ideas with the community. I enjoy outdoor photography; especially the challenge of wildlife subjects. I currently live in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

A Pennsylvanian, I grew up close to nature and spent a great deal of my youth roaming and exploring the fields and woods. The love of nature and the joy of photography go hand in hand for me. There is a feeling of peace and comfort that I try to capture with film. My studio shots, which have improved dramatically recently, are the direct result of Nikonians who have taken the time to walk me through, and help me understand studio lighting. My studio work is as much theirs as it is mine. I am very proud to be a part of team.

I remember my grandfather giving me one of his old film SLRs when I was much younger, but I was never able to learn how to use it appropriately so when a busy schedule made it difficult to take the time to get film developed I devolved to the realm of digital P&S cameras. I've fairly recently rediscovered photography as both an art and a science in my D200 through the help of Nikonians. It's my pleasure to have the opportunity to give a little back to the community that helped rekindle my interest in freezing moments of time.

I bought my first Nikon, an N90, in 1997 and found Nikonians in early 2002 while researching the D100. I've spent time teaching art and doing news photography, but now get to concentrate on my own art and photography. I love my Macintosh and my Nikons and promote this great site every chance I get! I am honored to be part of such a great team.

I have always had a strong passion for wildlife and nature which turned into a photographic passion as well about 3 or 4 years ago. Although I am self taught it has been the help I receive from Nikonians that has allowed me to improve and keep my enthusiasm for photography. Although I have gravitated toward close-up photography I am constantly working on strengthening other skills and look forward to sharing photography with fellow members ... most honoured to be on the moderation team.

I work in computer software, specializing in enterprise systems for the financial services and marketing industries. I majored in political science and computer science and later obtained my J.D. and M.B.A. degrees. I no longer practice law, but I'm still licensed in Massachusetts. My first camera was a Brownie Starmite II. I then "graduated" to an Argus C3 and super-8 movies. My first Nikon wasn't truly a Nikon, but rather a Nikkorex F. In 1983 I acquired a Nikon FM and a lifelong hobby. I'm happily married to my lifemate soulmate, one heck of a photographer when she gets the urge. Glad to be here.

Started out in photography with a high school science project. Followed with a little shooting family shots thru school. Joined USMC and shot all over the Far East so my Company would not have to use the Naval Photographers since we were stationed at a Naval Base most of the time. After discharged found employment at Los Angeles International Airport. Started doing weddings, passport photos, chasing police and fire engines. Shot lots of auto accidents. In 1975 started auto racing photography and have been doing that ever since. Much in Europe years ago, now slowing down. Love what I do and have found a home at Nikonians. What a great bunch of people!

I'm Paul Fisher. I started photography in the mid 1970s with a Rolleiflex SL35. I was an obsessive photographer for some years until the pressures of work and family gradually made me devote my attention to other things. A couple of years ago I bought my first Nikon (a F60), joined Nikonians and I've never looked back. I have a beautiful and understanding wife and four lovely daughters. I live in Perth, Western Australia, where I work as a civil engineer.

Hi, I'm the weird guy, known for transporting smelly dead bait for predators in his car, but also for my love for puffins and meercats. Yeap, nature photography is my life. I live in Belgium and work as a freelance nature photographer since 2000, where I also work as a climbing instructor. A self-taught photographer, armed with a Nikon F-601, a Sigma 500/7.2 and Moose Peterson's book "Nikon Guide to Wildlife Photography", took my first steps in this very demanding field of photography, back in 1995. Glad to be here amongst Nikonians.

I've been involved in photography with SLRs since I was eleven years old and have never lost my fascination and joy with it. There's something special about its blend of art, technology, and personal memories that inspires me. The areas of photography I enjoy the most are landscapes, wildlife, and travel; it's hard for me to imagine a time where I'll lose interest in them.  I'm squarely in the middle between film and digital and happily use both. I'm a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder and work as a Program Manager at a large aerospace company, primarily in the areas of satellite and aircraft technology. Fortunate to live in Colorado Springs, Colorado where there are ample opportunities for the photographic subjects I enjoy. Happy and honored to be part of the team.

While I can't lay claim to decades of photographic experience, I have packed a lot into the last few years, discovering the world of Nikon and then Nikonians in quick succession. With my 2 sons arriving in the last 3 years photography took the place of a couple of other hobbies. These days at least one Nikon accompanies most family outings, and pretty much anything that moves (or doesn't) has become fair game. In-between times I keep busy as an engineer for an aerospace company, based in beautiful Sydney, Australia.

My dad began to teach me the art of photography when I was seven. By the time I was in 10th grade, I had enough money saved to buy a brand new Nikon F. Over 40 years later and still a Nikon enthusiast, I converted in 2004 to digital imaging. While the same principles apply behind the camera, moving from the wet darkroom to behind the computer has been an exciting challenge. A day does not go by where I do not learn something new - and Nikonians is largely responsible for that learning. I am honored to be a part of the Team.

I am a Landscape photographer based in Northern England currently taking time off from Sales and Service Management to dedicate more time to photography -whilst training to be a Geography Teacher. I am a serious rather than a professional photographer. I built my own website, sold some prints, had images published by a few magazines and won some prizes in some national Landscape Photo contests -I hope to repeat this in 07!. I enjoy long camping/photography trips -the most recent a 5 week trek to my favourite place on Earth: Iceland. I've met a few Nikonians in the flesh and, without exception, everyone one of them remains a friend. I live with my long suffering beautiful partner Amanda and two Persian cats. Happy to be helping a forum that gives so much!

My name is Skip Higgins, and I'm a Nikoholic! I've suffered from this malady for near forty years now and still find myself with an empty wallet, pockets full of film or CF cards and double A batteries poking lenses in the faces of sometimes dangerous creatures and little children ... whew! Now, being allowed to address and perhaps assist others similarly afflicted, I'm humbled by what I see as the quantity in person and product within Nikonians. I can only hope to be worthy.

I’m a Toronto based photographer specializing in fine art abstracts. My aim in photography is to present the familiar world in an unfamiliar way, whether my subject is architecture, nature or urban detail. I have used Nikon equipment for over 25 years and now shoot both film and digital. Nikonians has been a great source of education and inspiration. I’m very glad to be here as a moderator.

I started fooling around with photography when i was about 20. My interest waxed and waned over the years for various reasons, but I finally started taking it more seriously when the youngest daughter started playing sports in high school. At about the same time I began to travel more. So I dug out my old physics text, studied the sections on optics, bought a good book on basic photography, and learned a lot from all the wise folks here who preceded me.

Photography, specifically photography with Nikon gear, has been a part of my life for over 30 years, starting with my first Nikkormat FTn in 1969. Photojournalism training came via the United States Marine Corps, where I held billets in media relations, reporting, and photography, as well as broadcast journalism, before being "kicked up the chain". Retired in 1990, I work as a weekly PJ for a small paper next to a large Marine Corps Air Station. Found Nikonians by sheer accident while searching for "intel" on the N80, and have been hooked since. Through Nikonians I'm learning photography all over again and very happy about it. Come visit at the Shooting issues / Photo Journalism Photography (Tom's mug shot taken while flying on assignment, covering the Blue Angels)

I started taking pictures when I was about 13 years old. Over the years, I have used many different brands and dreamed of owning a Nikon for a long time, but I could not afford one then. When I retired in August 2001, I decided to use a lot of my free time on photography. I bought a Nikon N80 and the Nikkor 28-105mm AF lens and haven't looked back. Also own now a F3, F4, F100 and Coolpix 2500. I feel very honored to be involved with such a great Nikon community.

I've been a member of Nikonians since day one and an unapologetic Nikon enthusiast since buying my first camera, an FA. Born among the cornfields of northwestern Illinois, I'm a graduate of the University of Illinois and now live in southwest Virginia where I work as a mechanical engineer. Although I like all types of photography, my favorite subject is motorsports so I thoroughly enjoy serving as staff photog for the Virginia International Raceway. In 2002 I went digital with a D1 and D100. Nikonians has more to offer than one could ever imagine and I'm honored to be a part of the team. I have gained more here than I ever dreamed possible.

Hello, my interest in photography started with digital and I bought my first serious camera (D70) in 2004. Since I love to play and watch ice hockey, it was natural to try myself out in shooting the local games. This is still my main interest, but I have also started to explore nature and portrait photography. I live in Hungary, where I was born and work in finance at a big american company. It is a great honour to be part of the Nikonians Team!
