I
can call myself a third generation Nikon photographer; both
my father and grandfather helped introduce me to the world
of photography on wonderful Nikon cameras. I have been shooting
Nikon for the past 20 years, starting with my first SLR, an
FG-20, and a Nikkormat FT2, progressing through the N90 and
finally, today, into digital with the D2X and D70. I made
a career change in 2005, and since then have been a full-time
professional photographer in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois,
shooting everything from corporate events to concerts to weddings.
I have always loved Nikonians for its uncommonly friendly,
civil and helpful atmosphere, and I'm pleased to be part of
such a great team. |

Born
in Wales, I've lived in Manchester, England, for the last
25 years. My photography started at age 9 or so, with an Ilford
127 roll film camera with manual everything. After 30 years
as a Minolta user, I found Nikonians. A fantastic source of
information and support, made me switch to the best (!). A
bit "old school", I'm still a film user but the
lure of digital is getting stronger all the time, more so
now that my wife has her own D70. My main photographic interests
are land/sea/cityscapes, along with trains, planes and cars,
some wildlife and still life, with a couple of F100's and
a range of Nikkors. It's great to be part of the team.

I've
loved photography for a long time and purchasing a Nikon camera
was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Took several
photography courses at our local University and read many
books. Nikonians members are a tremendous source for understanding
equipment and the complexity of photography. Most importantly,
the encouragement, support, and shared knowledge from all,
continue to add to the desire for improvement. I feel honored
to have been invited as a Moderator and look forward to sharing
our love of photography, as well as encouraging each other
in our quest to improving our photographs. |

I've
been an avid amateur photographer for thirty years, having
received my initial training and started photography while
a police detective. Today, I shoot Nikon and frankly, it is
an excellent system that more than satisfies my needs.
I focus a great deal on Black & White digital photography
and in 2006, I was nominated for one of my image submissions
by the Black & White Spider Awards. I must admit, Nikonians
has helped me hone my abilities, expand my knowledge and helped
with successes such as above. Finally,
my day job is in the information technology industry where
today, I work as an internetworking engineering consultant.
I look
forward to seeing you online in the forums! |
