Nikonians Awards
2004

It is with great pleasure that we celebrate the achievements of the Nikonians community during 2004. In particular we wish to recognize the outstanding contributions of community members, our team and the talents of our photographers.

During 2004, Nikonians registered membership grew from 15,650 to almost 25,000. The number of unique daily visitors to our site grew from almost 5,000 in December 2003 to 10,300 in December 2004; 310,000 per month. Stickiness, measured as number of pages viewed by unique visitors is well above of any of the average peer sites. These rates of growth have only been managed by the tireless efforts of our team, and the many members who contribute so much to this community, making its knowledge base and friendliness unique.

In recognition of the team and our membership, we have great pleasure in announcing the Nikonians of the Year awards for 2004. We also take the opportunity to recall the inaugural Nikonians of the Year, awarded in 2003.

In 2004 we reintroduced the Nikonians Photo Contest, with over 600 entries. Each of the monthly winners was invited to enter the contest finals, and a wonderful collection of images has been the result. We are very happy to announce the winners of the Nikonians Photo Contest 2004.
