brettcoon Nikonian since 03rd Nov 2005Fri 25-May-07 01:22 AMSeveral people have asked if I'll take cash, and the answer is "not yet". I'm still hoping the prospect of a trade will get someone to dig an underused gem of a lens out of their closet and make me a deal.
So I'll give it a few more days before entertaining cash, at which point I'll post my asking price (and email those who already contacted me directly, to be fair).
Another person asked if this is a US lens. I'm not 100% certain, but I think so. The box is the same black box with gold trim and pictures of lenses all over it that my other US lenses came in, and inside there is a purchaser info mail-in card with a US mailing address. That card doesn't entirely settle the issue, however, because there's also warranty paperwork for an N70 body in the box, so it appears the prior owner of this lens mixed up the paperwork a bit. The original lens manual is included too, btw.
And finally, I wanted to add that in terms of trades, I'll also consider zooms, though no manual-focus zooms. But if you'd rather have my svelte 70-180 than that unwieldy 200-400VR you have sitting in the corner, let's talk.

So I'd like to trade it for a high quality telephoto lens for wildlife and the occasional sporting event. I'm thinking AF 300/2.8, AI 400/3.5, or maybe AI 500/4 P. Nikkor is preferred, though I'll consider 3rd party lenses. This is for use on a D200, BTW, so although I list two manual-focus lenses above, AF is actually preferable. Signs of wear on the lens body are OK, but the optics and functionality must be excellent. Cash can be part of the trade if the lens values don't quite match.
