"Camera Control Pro 2"

I am really missing the ability to shoot tethered in my studio. Who knows how long or IF Lightroom will be able to handle this. I decided I would bite the bullet and try Camera Control Pro from Nikon, even though they are charging too much. So I downloaded the trial. It crashed when I tried to launch so I de-installed. Has anyone else been successful having it run on Mac OS X 7.xxx?

I use a cheap alternative, Sofortbild, as my tether app. You can then point Lightroom to the appropriate folder.

Yes, in Lightroom 4 tethered shooting is possible. I use Camera Control Pro 2 for this but about a year ago I tried it out in Lightroom - and that works as well. Download the trial version and try it out!

Keith,

Not sure what your problem with Lightroom 3 is but tethered capture works great with my D700 on both Mac and PC platforms. I use it nearly every day.

I've used LR3 & 4 to tether my D700 (until I sold it to help pay for the D800, that is still in the order-limbo world). Anyway, I have successfully used this on windows vista 32-bit as well as windows 7 64-bit. On windows-7, sometimes the OS throws up a pop-up window when you plug the camera in and turn it on. I usually just leave the pop-up there (don't answer it), and find that LR tether would then work.

Anyone successfully get their D800 tethered via LR 4 ?

Thanks everyone, I neglected to say my questions were about the D800. I have been using both Sofobild and Lightroom for tethering with previous cameras. from what I read, Nikon Camera Control Pro is the only tool currently available that has announced compatibility with tethering for the D800. However, when I installed the trial if failed to even run. So was trying to see if others had used it successfully with Mac OS 7.xx.
