Guys,

I just went to my local Best Buy and had them check their stock for a D800... nada. I live in a smallish town in Central Pennsylvania.

I also had them check every store in this region (Pittsburgh, Baltimore, DC). Nothing.

Interestingly, most had none listed as being on the way and none on order.

I live in Santa Barbara, and the best buy here received nothing. We did check other stores' inventory, and one store close to simi valley had received two! One had been bought instantly and one was placed on hold for a guy DRIVING THERE FROM ARIZONA just to get it. Seems like people are doing anything to get them a few days earlier than the rest.

Two Best Buy stores in SE Michigan got 2 D800 each. All were gone by 10:30 this morning.

I called my local BB (Springfield, IL.) at 10:00am they said they had 2 and held one for me.
When I picked it up at 10:20 they said that was the last one they had.

I called 3 Best Buy stores here in the Tampa, Florida area yesterday and struck out with all. The best info I could get was that maybe some will show up on March 25 - 27.

According to the store manager in Best Buy of Newport Richey no stores in South west Florida got any.(including Tampa)

He said Miami "area" got 24 but wasn't sure which stores.

If your in Southern Florida you might want to start calling around the Miami area.

I live in Charlotte and was told that within this whole region only Mooresville was showing that they had one in their inventory. The manager from the store I was in called and was told that it would be a display only camera.....So if you want to see but not buy they will have it on display.

After further investigating I learned that Alpharetta Ga had 3 in inventory so I got in my car and made the four hour trip to get one!!

I hope that you did not drive all the way from Charlotte to find a D800 at the Alpharetta Best Buy. I called them and they said that they might have some on the truck. But I drove up there and they checked and had none. None came at all on today's truck. But htey did have 3 yesterday that were sold yesterday.

Yes.....I was at that Best Buy at 9 pm Friday night and bought one.....What is the saying about a bird and a worm??
