I accidentally set my camera to multiple exposure, taking 2 photo's at a time on CH mode. I then proceeded to take a number of bird photographs, not realizing that I was getting a "shadow" effect for quite a few shots. Given that 2 shots were taken each time, is there any way each photo can be "separated" and Ican correct this either in Photomechanic or NX2? Or is it just not worth it? A lesson to learn for the future?

I think there were two exposures but only one photo. It's like a double exposure on a film camera. The first exposure is made on a film frame. The second exposure is made on the same frame without advancing the film. Sorry.

That may be correct, but it sounds odd. When editing a photo in-camera, the result is stored as another separate file. I would think that the same process would be employed in the double exposure process. It's too bad if that is not the case, but Nikon should have known better.
