HI Guys, seeking your advice again. When experimenting in the garden I tried to get the AF to focus on gently swaying leaf quite large grass type about two feet tall and two inches wide. I thought that in AF-c the camera would lock on and keep with the gentle swaying but it did not. Are my expectations too high or am I misunderstanding AF-C Thanks in anticipation Ian
Hi Ian, Did the info from the links Ray provided answer your question? (Ray - Thanks for sharing those, I hadn't seen those before.)
A couple of other thoughts are for a small target like that. Be sure you are using single point AF, not multiple points. Also, the quality of the lens can play a role in how fast autofocus responds. But if you were using one of your AF-S lenses you should be fine, but still some do better than others. As long as the subject stays under the active focus point, and the autofocus system stays active, the autofocus should track the movement until you release the shutter.
If that doesn't address your problem, a little more specific information about exactly what didn't work and the settings you were using would be helpful.
