I have stepped up from a D7000 to a D800 recently. I am amazed by the sharpness of the D800 as it tIcks all the boxes for me. I was just wondering if the difference between the D800 and D800e is really that significant.
Don't get me wrong, I am amazed by the resolution and results from my D800, just wondering how much better the D800e is. If it is so much better, it is one hell of a cameras.

I have looked into this from a post processing view point . I think the gain is minimal , those who make huge prints would see some gain . To me it compares to a D800 with some minor sharpening , contrast , saturation post processing . More bragging rights than visible improvement .
Compare the detail from a Huge crop in the red box .

That's what I thought. I must admit though that I am so blown away with the quality of the prints I am getting. Pity about the file sizes ... Oh well, I think I prefer the quality and I will put up with the increased file sizes.
