"D800 on its way home..."

Madison, US

After about 10 months battling what I thought was soft focus, I finally sent my D800 off to Nikon for repair (LA location). The bright side is i spent the last 10 months blaming my technique and there's a chance it got better! Only 2.5 weeks later it's on its way home with delivery scheduled for Thursday. The repair order said major parts were replaced but were not specified. I never tested for the left focus issue. My camera was an early build which I received the week they started shipping.

Now my fingers are crossed and I can't wait to start playing with it again!!

Steve,

Just curious, did you get any type of preauthorization before sending to Nikon or did you just send it. I'm debating how to proceed for my left focus.

Best of luck on your repair.

Brian

Just send it in, include examples and a written explanation of the problem, and coordinate everything in duplicate by calling into the telephone support line. If there is truly a problem, they won't give you a hard time about warranty coverage.
