Looks like a good location but in my eyes, some of the shots look over processed.

More to the point of my post, why is the focus point (I assume) visible in the night shots?

Excellent captures. I was told that Death Valley is great for landscape picture taking in the spring. Are you going back there? If yes, when is the best time?

I might go back in March.
The only reason I went in Jan because I also go every year to CES so I stop by DV for a day or so.
Spring time is good after rains. Lots of wild flowers. But some roads might be closed due to washout.
