"DK17 with DK19"

Haw anyone used this combination on the d800? No problem mounting the DK17 but in trying to put the eye piece (DK19), I can fit the rubber over the eye piece but cant get the metal ring to go on anyone else have this problem?

I had similar difficulty with my Hoodman Eyepeice. The tolerance is very tight. I ended up using pliers to remove the stock eyepiece and attach the Hoodman. I also used a small amount of Blue (not Red) Loctite.

I have 2 D800s and they both have the DK19 added. The metal ring is just a press fit with hand preasure.

Yes, the DK17 is the eye piece that comes with the camera. Are you asking about it, or the DK17M which is the magnifying eye piece?

If yes, then the Dk17M has its own metal back piece (ring)and it looks like you would use it rather than the metal ring that came with the DK19.

I just got the DK17M and it does come with a spacer to use. Here is another thread I found searching for your answer...
