"Live view and manual exposure" Sat 15-Dec-12 12:36 PM by BR

Been reading about how Live View shows the actual exposure when in manual exposure mode, so if you are just relying on flash and setting the ambient exposure way down the image on the LCD is very dark. Seems a lot of studio photographers were unhappy with that.
Have there been any firmware upgrades to the D800 yet? If so, did any address this issue? If not, any idea whether it's something Nikon might do, based on past firmware update history with other cameras?
What I mean is having the option to maintain the LCD at a fixed brightness in manual exposure.
According to Nikon Rumors, "The D800 update will fix the focus priority bug (with AF-ON in Live View changing the aperture causes the screen to turn dark)." Live View related, but not what you're looking for. If you have Thom Hogan's D800 book he describes your low ambient light studio setup for flash in LV situation. I'm not recalling if he was able to provide any helpful suggestions.
Edited to add - there has been a prior firmware update, at least one.
