"Lens Profiles for D800"

GB

Hi,

I got my D800 a week or so ago and I've been processing my RAW files with ACR 6.7 under Photoshop CS5. When I try to use the lens correction tab I cannot find a profile for my AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm 3.5-4.5 G ED lens. I had no problems with any of the lenses I used on my previous Nikon D80.

Any suggestions on where, and how, I might find a lens profile?

John,
I am running ACR 7.2 (and I use it both CS5.1 and CS6, on different machines of course). Try downloading a newer version of ACR.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your input, much appreciated. I'm guessing that ACR 7.2 is the version that ships with CS6 and is therefore unavailable to me on CS5.

This may be another reason for me to consider moving up to CS6.

Just to be clear, Tom, are you saying you are finding the correct Lens Profiles for images taken with your D800 using ACR 7.2, or that I should upgrade and maybe see if that does the trick?

Regards,

John

ACR 7.2 has the profile for the 24-85mm.

ACR 7.2 can be downloaded without having CS6 - see reply 6 here http://forums.adobe.com/message/4745971#4745971

I just tried upgrading ACR and my OS on my iMac isn't recent enough to take it. You might want to check out whether your processor allows it, if your computer is a few years old.
Not sure about PCs.

From what I've seen is ACR 6.7 is the last update Adobe was going to put out for CS5. Only thing I could think of is to see if there way to make your own lens profile. Maybe someone knows where to find the info for this. Lightroom uses ACR 7.2.... Could think about "upgrading" to LR4 an use CS5 for layer work.....
