I recieved a 'shipped notification' from B&H today. I guess that there must be some functional areas up there. I did also recieve a 'delay due to Sandy' note the day before. I am amazed that they were able to get my order shipped out so soon.

When I get the tracking, and I start following it from the East Coast to the West Coast...then it gets to the distribution center...then I see "Out for Delivery" I start calling the wife: "Is it there yet? Is it there yet? Is it there yet?"

Congrats on the D800, as Tom Petty sang "waiting is the hardest part."

I bought my last two cameras from my local dealer. Had to pay the tax, but knowing that if I have any trouble with the camera, that all I have to do is drop it off, Makes it worthwhile!

Wouldn't you know it though, I have had no trouble with any of them, including my new D800.

UPS seems to have recovered quickly.

I ordered from B&H on Monday for next day delivery (wasn't thinking about the storm).

I received a delay notice from them on Tuesday morning, mentioning that the carriers were not operating that day, but would be on Wednesday.

I received a "shipped" notice and tacking number from B&H late Tuesday.

UPS Picked it up Wednesday.

The package is out for delivery here in Tacoma, WA this morning (Thursday).

That is pretty damn impressive for both B&H and UPS.

You're fortunate! I live in a very remote area inside the Arctic Circle; when I see the "out for delivery" notice, I know it's still going to be a week or so before my package arrives.

I wish you well with the new camera. I love mine.
