"GGS Screen Protector - Real vs Fake"

CA

I just picked up my replacement GGS screen protector for my D800, it's not the same as the first one I received. Packaging is very different, and the actual cover is different as well. I posted the details here: http://photokaz.com/2012/08/ggs-lcd-screen-protector-real-vs-fake-nikon-d800/

Can anyone tell me which one is real and which one is fake? Or are they both fake? Help appreciated. They came from the same Amazon seller.

The packaging on the first one is similar to the packaging on other GGS covers I've purchased in the past. The border of the GGGs cover I bought for the D800 does not cover any of the screen. I think the differences between some of the covers on the market is in the width of the adhesive border, the ones that fit the D800 properly have a very narrow adhesive border, about 2mm wide.

This is the one I bought:

Thanks Dave,

Does yours have a plastic border around the perimeter? Both have a thin edge, but one has the plastic and one doesn't. I would prefer without as that one seems taller and that it would cover the screen.

No plastic border on mine, it looks just like the first one you received.

The "real thing" at http://hedlerusa.com/ costs $35. If you paid less than 20 - you got a fake. Sorry.

I'm assuming you are talking about this: http://hedlerusa.com/viewitem.php?productid=391

Different brand, so you can't compare prices.

Sorry, my mistake. Just thought that, as always, "you get what you paid for."
