I love you folks, but it would be so appreciated if you would not fill these forums with the "delivery status of my D800." These posts do absolutely nothing to further my knowledge of the camera. And I do not care if/when your camera will arrive. Please simply await the arrival of your camera in peace (and quiet) and kindly leave the rest of us alone. Respectfully, thank you so much!

I was waiting for the no tax sale, usually kicks in on Thursday before tax day.

The LA Times ad this morning shows it's in place but, preparing for a 5 camera shoot and may not have time to run and grab it.

Otherwise, the OP's counterbalance is understood, acknowledged, evaluated and posited above, to be gnawed upon.

Your point is fair enough.....unless you are on a waiting list. Then every day of reading about how amazing those who have one are finding it is almost painful. It is the "are we there yet" syndrome for photographers.

Ok this is the last thing I will say about you poor soles weighting for a D800. I was on my dealers list last AUGUST. I got mine on March 22 which is the day the 800 was released. I must say it is a great camera, but the world would not come to an end if I had not got on that date.Good golly relax you MAY get one in the next year or so!!!

Mine is here. Now I'm waiting for the upgrade to the D800.

Is anybody else waiting for that? Do you know when B & H will start taking orders? Did any of you get a notice about this?

I think the D900 will suck for all sorts of reasons. 4x6 prints will look the same as the ones from my D800. And it will have hot pixels and require a tripod and be inaccurately measured by that sensor-measuring company. And the 1gb jpegs will be too large. Many people will buy it for its 3D IMAX video uncompressed output and video projection capabilities and its laser-guided auttofocus accurate to within 15 nanometers at any aperature. But I still want one and I can't wait until it gets here.

Is anybody here on the d900 test list? How long is the wait to be a d900 beta tester?

I'll concede that such posts are a bit whiney (I want my D800 NOW! Waahh!), but they are pretty entertaining. And, as others have stated, that's one of the reasons that forums like these exist. If you don't like 'em, don't read 'em.

I've already pre-ordered the Nikon D400 and D900 from Brad Berger at Berger-bros.com. I'm not kidding you, I really have!

I started to pre-order my D900 but then I realized how foolish that was, way too far down the road. I decided to pre-order a D800s/D800Es instead, it's only a couple of years away.

I'm hoping to have a D800 in hand by this time next week. I just pray that the intel from AAFES is accurate.

That would be Beemer as in BMW owner. Not that BMW riders aren't looking for beer ... that's always my short term goal on a trip.

So, anybody heard when the D800e's are shipping?

Hell, if I sell the bike, I won't need a D800!

Besides, a 12 year old BMW motorcycle with over 100k on the odo might not actually generate enough sales dollars to pay for a D800. A nice Nikon prime like the 85mm F/1.8 AFS G, maybe, but that's about it!

I truly believe that anyone placing a post such as this one is definitely craving for attention since his request not to post has triggered totally the opposite. Perhaps a little TLC from home will make things better for him?

By the way, I am still waiting for my D800 to arrive and I encourage all of you that are still waiting as well as the ones that have received it to join this thread with there comments.

OP here again. Actually, by funneling the rather whiny: "Where is my D800 (or D800E)" postings onto this thread, it has freed up the other threads for some useful and helpful discussions. Therefore, I would like to declare : "Attention you spoiled and utterly deprived babies, please continue to complain about your undelivered D800 cameras right here." Appreciate it!!!

For whatever reason--perhaps, "Misery loves Company and NAS together" I find great comfort with others knowing we are still waiting and I am not alone.

Without the information here--there wouldn't have been such a mad rush to Best Buy for some lucky folks to get theirs in hand.

I'm working this weekend and can't get away. Next Thursday I'm ordering my D800 throught my favorite local dealer. Then I will then be waiting and waiting.

Just remember folks, "Today's D800 is tomorrows D100" If we are lucky the cycle continues.

Keep this thread going guys. I am still waiting for my D800 to arrive. Perhaps we should all send a picture taken with our D800s when they arrive to Mr Becker to let him know that this thread is alive and kicking. Lol
