"Lots of 40.5 CPL filters!"

With a price range from $25 to $150, how does one know which is the best filter for the money? Does anyone have any serious recommendations (or any non-serious recommendations for that matter)?

I went with the B+W kaeseman cpl. Usually I buy Hoya filters (my reasoning since Hoya makes a lot if not most of the glass used in filters and lenses) but I heard B+W quality is the best so I tried it and I liked it along with a close up and a neutral density filter. They are all well made.

I just ordered a step up ring for now to use my 52mm CP.

My normal thought woudl be the B+W multicoated version - about $89 through B&H. Filter Connection (www.2filter.com) does not have it in stock but has just received the clear filters and is expecting the CP this week.

Eric, did you measure to see if you can get the lens hood on and off over the 54mm circumference of the adapter? Or is this strictly for the 10mm lens (which cannot accommodate a hood)?

You cannot get the hood on or off if the adapter is attached. I'm using it for the 10-30 and 30-110 lenses.
