"SB-N5 speedlight, will it work with dSLR's or p7000?"

Just speculation but I'm wondering if this little speedlight works with other bodies or if it's dedicated to the 1 series only? I can see myself using it with my P7000 if it's compatible.

This Speedlight has a non-standard fitting - it can only be mounted on the new Nikon 1 cameras.

Yep, it only works on the 1 camera, and no CLS.

However! I have a bold plan to take some "complex" pictures with a V1 and the SB-N5. I figure I can point it backward or up, may be dial it down, and have it trigger by SB-800's in SU-4 mode.

Something more of doing it because I can that a great solution. Will be fun to try!

This new flashlight takes it's power from the camera battery so even if you could make it fit there are no flash power out contacts on any other Nikon.

Oh well, it looks cool but I plan to stick to my P7000 and maybe a SB-400.

They are coming out with a whole bunch of new accessories for the Nikon 1.
I am wondering if a constant light for Videos will be one of them?
Also are there any cheap alternates to use now?
