"V1 turning itself on"

Arlington, US

So I just discovered an issue with my V1. The slightest bit of movement seems to make it switch on when the 10-30 lens is attached. WIth the other two lenses this behavior does not exhibit (at least for now anyway). I think maybe the switch mechanism inside the lens is the problem. Has anyone else seen this sort of thing? I guess I will need to ship it off for a repair.

I haven't seen that. The on/off switch is pretty sensitive, though. So it's just movement of the lens that causes it to turn on (slight movement)? May be a bad contact pin perhaps. Have you tried carefully cleaning the contact points on the camera and lens with isopropyl alcohol?

I am also having the exact same issue. The camera turn on just by turning the lens slightly or by pressing the shutter. Did you ever figure out what was wrong?

Sent it in to Melville. Repaired under warranty. They claimed to have replaced some PCB. And cleaned and calibrated the lens and body. Whatever they did, it fixed the problem.

Hmm, probably something in the electrical contacts. Glad it's working, though. Since they "calibrated" do you see any visual difference in your shots?
