Thanks for posting this link. IMO, anyone who has pre-ordered the camera can now justify his or her decision to buy this camera since there are so many good things in the review, and anyone who doesn't like what they have read can find enough reasons to justify a decision not to buy.

I'll need to see a few more reviews I think but it looks promising and I could see me with one and the 10mm instead of buying the Fuji X100. The Fuji is classier and has probably a better Sensor but the Nikons seems to be very good for it's size and there it is the Size! I still think the Nikon will be pocketable and to me thats the key! Good enough is good enough...
Seems to be a lot more interest around here in the V1 than the J1, no science involved just my feeling, I'm a Landscaper and I like the Idea of the V1/J1 Combined with the Pancake 10mm but it makes little sense if there isn't a longer Prime to go with it, for a lightweight Climbing/Hiking kit. The mock up Lenses make it look like there is going to be a fairly comprehensive system so there should be something for most folks I think, as long as they see the light... I agree completely that owning a series of small light primes together with a 1-series camera will ultimately be a compelling package. As sensors improve over the years this should only increase its utility.
For me the 1 series with two zooms eliminates any need for owning the 18-55 and 55-200 for use on DX. So my kit is evolving to become the most massive FX cameras such as the D4 and D800 together with the three kings, DX purely for birding with my 500 VR plus TCs, and 1 series for the small and light (but still speedy) niche and 1 series for video.

Don't envy you carrying all that FX kit about but if ya needs it ya needs it!
I see your point there on the 1 system, I had not considered it in that fashion being a confirmed Dx Shooter nowadays, (My back just won't take FX anymore!) we come at it from two different perspectives, interesting...
