"Scene Mode question"

US

I do not know if anyone else has this problem and/or if is a problem?
When I select the scene mode the monitor does not turn on automatically (see manual page 40) The display turns on when I press the “info button”
Is that normal or I am doing something wrong.
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I believe this is normal. When you switch the mode dial to Scene, it will be set at the last one used by you. If you rotate the command dial when you haves scene mode selected, the rear screen will come on automatically so you can see which scene mode is being selected.

You are correct, it is set to the last one used, but the monitor stays out even if I I rotate the command dial, after I select scene mode. I need to press "info" to turn on the monitor display.
Thanks Pete

Hummm!

When I checked, the screen will come on when the command dial is spun so that I can see the scene that is selected, but will turn off in the amount of time set in the menus (which by default is 10 seconds I believe).

Are you saying that your display does not come on when you spin the dial initially?

Pete

Edited to add:

I just noticed that if the camera goes into standby mode (when the displays go blank and you have to use a half-press to wake it up) the screen will not come on nor will the scene mode change. You have to have the camera displays active to change it. Perhaps this is what you are experiencing.

Hi Pete,
I happened to have the night scene selected in the scene mode, so the display wouldn't refresh unless I do a half-press and the flash will pop-up and then the monitor will wake up, or also works with the info button like I mentioned in the previous post.
I am all set, it works properly.
Thanks for looking in to it and responded to my post.
"Nikonias" is a great group.
I appreciated.
