"Mastering D7000 Book?"

US

HI,
I just upgraded from a D5000 to de D7K. I am in heaven!!!!
But I am still a newbie, and expect to be for the next 20-30 years.
When is the D7000 going to e available?
Would you recommend another one to get started?
Thanks,

Dentalpiano

At present, Thom Hogan has one that is out and it is a CD with a 142 page guide book to take in the field. This can be ordered from Thom's web site. No word on when Darrell Young's book is completed. Another book is something like "D7000 book for Dummies" (probably wrong with title) that is at Barnes & Noble.

Hi,
Just got a e copy of 7k for dummies. Good and easy to read a follow.
I got mine in the I-Book.
I also went through a 'nother one : Field Guide to 7k. ( also from I-book) equally good.

Is Thom's available on I-Book or Kindle?

I read in Thom's cd that he wasn't certain which media would work. He states that the PDF file is extensive and has tested it with Amazon Kindle 3 noting "some PDF functions were not supported...". His words are that the ebook "may work on these" as he was referring to Nook, iPhone, Kobo, Sony Reader, and others. Good luck.

While waiting for Darrell Young's book I purchased this one:
Nikon D-7000 Digital Field Guide by J. Dennis Thomas.

Thank you much!
Just got the kindle version of the digital field guide. It looked more user-friendly and well organized. I had the "for dummies" for the D5000, and it was good at the very beginning to familiarize with terms, concepts.
I like the idea of Thom's and probably will be next!!

I have it on good authority that Darrell's book is
in the last stages of completion. Not sure on availability date.
I'm holding out for his book, which will be worth waiting for.

Is it possible to get some kind of ETA on the nikonians book? I know a previous poster said it is "closer and closer", but that really is not very helpful. Are we talking a few weeks or a few months?

Having owned the D90 book I have been waiting anxiously for the d7000 book to come out.

Based on his D90 guide, I can recommend Young's book. IIRC, he is awaiting a final proof with images to review or some such, so it's coming along, but not ready yet.

I've ordered Thom's for the D7000, again, based upon his use of plain language and clear analysis. Check out his site for examples of his writing.

Any input on Magic Lantern's Multimedia Guide for D7000? IT combines Book, DVD and a "wallet companion"...
