"Looks like I am going from the D5000 to the D7000!!! YeeHaw!"

My wife is a CFO, so financial matters always go through her.
I explained that the D7000 with the 18 - 105mm VR lens is going to be about $1400.
But, before I let her hands wrap completely around my neck, I was able to let her know I would be selling the D5000 body, and 2 lenses. That the difference would only be about 500 or so.
And, the nice guy that I am, I would sell a couple of MY microphones from my home studio to make up the difference.
So, my wife is going to end up with a new toy. And we are both very happy about it.
I am still on the look out for a D700 that I can find used for less than 1800. It may not be there. If it isn't, I will be more than happy with the D7000.

Congratulations on the negotiations. You could tell her that the new camera was needed to capture photos of her with the higher quality she deserves, and save having to sell your mics. Be careful of where you sell them it you do, I lost a U-67 and the $2800 through an eBay scam a few years ago. I do not deal on eBay at all anymore. Stan St Petersburg Russia
