"Photo added to Gallery"

US

I've added the first photo to my gallery - it's one I took last night at a music jam - some crude post processing in View NX2 - needs more work, I am sure; but I wanted to see if I had the porcess correct to upload to my gallery and provide the photo to you for viewing.

Next - figure out how to include photo as part of post.

Please click on my gallery and give any comments and criticisms. I am relatively thick-skinned, and am painfully aware of my shortcomings.

Thanks.

Here's the picture that I posted to my gallery -

Taking pictures is only the beginning. Lots of work after you click the shutter, and I'm still figuring out what I need to learn.

Yup, I clicked on your gallery link and all's good.

No doubt photography has changed significantly going from film to digital. Much like changing from a rifle to a shotgun for hunting.

The ability to resurrect a poor photo is so much greater today, but boy, the learning curve is significant. I used to think that 90% of film photography occurred at the moment you took the photo. With digital it's probably close to 50% when you take the shot and 50% post processing and printing.

Look forward to seeing more photos in your gallery.

Thanks. this is not necessarily a good photo, but I wanted to test the process. I'm installing Photoshop Elements 9 this afternoon, ao that gives me another software package to learn!

I actually think it is a very good photo. I like it. I think third party noise reduction software like Noise Ninja or Topaz Denoise (my new favorite) would be very helpful. The residual noise in D7000 images seems to be primarily luma noise which can be cleaned up leaving very good detail. I tried it in Topaz and adjusted the white balance slightly and I think it helped.

Nice picture harry. It tells a story.

That looks good Chris. I don't know if it is the larger size or what you did, but it looks to have more punch.
