Trying to get use to using my new D7000. How'd I do on this one?

I probably need to take that front, blue pacifier out of the picture in post....maybe that would help it up.Someone mentioned that his face wasn't very sharp. What do you think about that?Thanks!

The eyes are sharp, and with people, animals, bugs, you almost ALWAYS want the eyes sharp. They are very sharp. The fact that the rest is a little softer only adds to the gentleness of the image.You could have moved in closer to the face, but for what this is, you have a nice image.Keep away from the "bull'seye", centered composition approach common to most point and shoot users, and really use the whole image area. Treat your viewfinder like a canvas. Use it all.
