"D7000 soft, not sharp?"

I think that the D7000, when shot with the right lens, is ultra-sharp!

I've found that a kit zoom lens does this camera a disservice...

Nice shots!

If you're using the prime lenses at f/4 or so, then they are always likely to be sharper than a "kit" zoom used wide open. But if used - on the same subject - at around f/8, I doubt you (or anyone else) would see too much difference.

This discussion may be continued in this earlier thread on the same subject, where members were advising you on how to compare the different lenses.
