I just preordered the D7000 from Adorama. They are saying Oct. 10th is the date they are due at the store. I wanted to order an extra battery and the optional battery grip but the salesperson did not have info on these items as of this time. I am replacing my D80 which will move on to another family member.

Wow, Oct. 10 is significantly earlier than I had heard so far. Hope they are right. Congrats on the purchase!

I hope so too. I had heard that the end of October was the likely shipping date from Nikon to the dealers...sooner would certainly be better.

According to NikonRumors and Best Buy, the D7K will arrive in the stores between October 17th-22nd.

Adorama did not ship yet. Customer service is now saying they have no date from Nikon. Preorder is now listed as back order.
