The only book available right now is the Nikon D7000 Digital Field Guide by J. Dennis Thomas. It is sufficient to get you up and running and is an easy read. An excellent detailed one will be by Thom Hogan, but he has not started it yet (see his website). And it looks like Nikonians Press will be publishing one in the future.

you can get this as an I or E book as well. Just loaded it on my Ipad today. I think it was 9.00.

If you want something that covers all the basic settings then Kelby Training has a good video for this: http://www.kelbytraining.com/online/courses.html&id=matt_cahill_nikon_d7000

You need a membership to watch it but like Nikonians it is totally worth it in my opinion. There are numerous other great video tutorials you will get access to, some basic, some advanced.

Have a look at Mastering the Nikon D7000 (Paperback) by Darrel Youg, Nikonian Digital Darrel. Also there is a Nikonian membership discount associated with this book.

Other books are Nikon D7000 at Amazon.

Noble and Barnes Bookstore has "Nikon D7000 for Dummies" @ $29.99. Seems pretty good with good color pictures and explanations.
