True really don't need the glass. But was really thinking of the 18-140mm. Also looking at getting a second camera body but have thoughts of getting the d7100 or a d600. Kept going back and forth on this one.

Thanks

You can prob get a used 16-85 for $450-500 at KEH and a d7100 refurbed body for under $1500. Not familiar with the 18-140, but i have heard good things about the 16-85.

I thought there was a special through September, where you can get up to $300 off if you buy a body with a lens.

I bought mine in early September on Amazon for $1046, and $300 off on the 18-140mm lens. $1452 total.

If your 70-300 is the modern VR type, not the poor-performing old non-VR G model, the 55-300 would seem to be redundant for you.

The deal also includes some kind of camera bag, although whether that's any good I have no idea.

Not all class-10 SD cards are the same. I doubt the one included has the performance of the 95 MB/sec SanDisk cards, and that really makes a difference if you are going to shoot long, high-speed bursts.

It's a good price for that collection of stuff if that's the stuff you want.

Until September 28 you can get a D7100 bundled with 18-140 for about $1500. If you don't need the 55-300, that's probably a better choice. Throw the WU-1a in for an extra $60 if you want that.

I question if the bundle is from Nikon. It seems more like something an on-line dealer like Adorama would put together. I don't recall ever seeing a Nikon bundle include a memory card and bag. Where did you see this ad?

It's in the Nikon USA online store:

http://shop.nikonusa.com/store/nikonusa/pd/productID.287688100

Edit: Interestingly, it's also at B&H as a "new item, available for pre-order." So apparently Nikon is packaging and distributing this as a separate SKU item through the normal retail channels.
