I have the Tamron 70-200 f2.8 VC lens and took 200 photos at a basketball camp today using a D7100. It's a great combination!

I just checked and the Tokina SD 50-135 F2.8 DX works great on my D7100

Thanks for the info.

NAS kicked in. I picked up the D7100 from B&H this afternoon.

I traded in a bunch of stuff. My D200 camera body B&H would only give me $125 for it - sob.

I am anxious to try the new camera,

What surprised me is the camera came with a 200 page book and I was hoping to take it for a quick spin

Al

Great buy! My original Tamron 17-50/2.8 works like a charm on my D7100.

Test photos of my cat Roscow with the new D7100 and my Tamron 17-50 lens. I shot the photos as F2.8 with a flash.

Let me know if you like the photos.

I like the pictures and I like Roscoe.

I use the Tokina 11-16 f:2.8 and the Tamron 24-70 f:2.8 with my D7100 and they are both just fine lenses working will with my camera.

Roscoe is a cool cat. He is so friendly. He is more like a dog than a cat.

I have one like that at home. Max, my orange tabby. I intend to post some pictures in my gallery of him when I get a bit of time. In fact I have a bunch of photos I want to up load but have been busy with work lately. Not a bad thing. My other cat Dutches not here is a cat of a different nature. Her photo is in my gallery. Her nickname rhymes with "Ditch". LOL

Great photos Al, but they appear soft to my eyes. I would like those eyes a bit sharper.

Thanks,

I was going foe a shallow depth of field, to blur the cluttered back ground.

Roscoe eyes and face look sharp to me. His paws are out of focus. Somebody else comment that 5.6 may have kept his paws in focus. May be next time I will try F 4.0 or F 5.6

I couldn't agree less. My old eyes find Rosco's eyes to be sharp and I'm not bothered by the paws. It is pretty obvious you were wide open. Changing Angle of view may have given a bit more sharpness to the paws. Anyway. Nice pictures.
