"D7000 Price Drop"

Salt Lake City, US

$999.95 Hope this means replacement is coming. And i hope its a pro-grade. I know i know. Not thinks this is happening. But we can dream. Only thing that would make me give up my D7k is a pro version DX.

Right now it does everything i could ask. Bigger buffer, better low light is all i am really looking forward to. 8fps wouldn't hurt either. 5 Frame bracketing. Minor stuff. Maybe next model could make me breakfast as well. While Im dreaming.

Adorama B and H,and Amazon are offering the D7000 body for just under $1000. Be careful of internet sites who offer it for less.

The new D800 has more pixels with same low light performance, so expect the new D7000 to be similar.

Actually the current D7000 has the same pixel density as the D800.I think the expectations for a D7200 coming out soon are very premature--the D7000 is less than 2 years old.

NikonUSA *store* currently has it listed (body only) at $1199.95 but it's crossed out with $999.95 price instead. All the 7K kits are marked down as well. Could be coincidence, but the only others with a markdown are the 3100 and 5100, both of which are in the process of being discontinued, correct?

I hope the D600 in DX mode is not what Nikon plans to be the D7000 replacement.
