"Focusing problems with my D7000 and Nikon 18-200 mm VR I"
Espoo, FI
Hi All,
I spent my Midsummer with my family (incl. kids and grand kids) in our summer home. I had my D7000 mostly with the all rounder (18-200 mm VR I) an dtried to take photos from playing kids and summer landscapes. I noticed that it had serious focusing problems in the area of 150-200 mm and when I took landscape pixs. Actually it didn´t focus at all. The weather was clear and the conditions were far from low light.
Have you had same symptoms? What could be the reason or reasons?
It functions greatly when using 18-100 mm or with any other lenses (for instance Nikon 50 mm/1,8 and Tamron 90/2,8 macro).

I had a similar problem with my 18-200. Would not focus all of the time at the longer focal lengths. Sent it to Nikon Repair and works great now. Cost was $90. They replaced a bunch of parts. Added benefit, it was cleaned.
