"Accessory Port Right Angle Adapter"

Tacoma, US

Has anyone found a right angle adapter that fits the D7000 accessory port, which would allow plugging in a remote release or GPS when you have the D7000 mounted on an L Bracket and the camera in the vertical position on a tripod?

I have a Kirk L-Bracket, and I know you can slide the bracket out to make this work, but that isn't always feasible. (1-find allen wrench; 2- remove from tripod; 3- loosen bracket; 4- slide bracket; 5- tighten bracket; 6- put away or lose allen wrench; 7- remount on tripod; 8- wonder where subject went)

That's one option, although it increases the size of the camera/L-bracket assembly, which makes it a tight fit in my ThinkTank holster.

I was thinking more of something like this: http://www.usbfirewire.com/usb_cables_mini-b_extensions_left_angled_82.html but for the accessory port, not the USB port.

Since their web site doesn't mention it, I asked Kirk how much extra space the LBA-1 adds. It's 1-1/2 inches. That is a major extension of the camera, but would certainly accommodate the remote plug.

Try PC Mobile:

Not sure if any of the gizmos they list would help (their descriptions leave more than a bit to be desired), but it's worth a look.
