I have been playing with the camera for over a month and like it. Have a Tamron 17-50mm on it and am happy with the upgrade over my Canon T1I. Struggling a little bit on movies over the Canon however, but am getting there. I have two user settings (U1 for outdoors/landscape, U2 for portrait) and I wanted to have a "psuedo third one" for "M" mode when I want to shoot movies. Most of the time, my movie shooting is impromptu, but I have found the key is to have a neutral picture control with the sharpness turned all the way down and a shutter of 50 (not sure if its lens or the body in general, but get a ton of aliasing and shimmer if I dont).
Question is in general on how the Picture Control works on the M, A, S, P settings. It seems like it works across all of those correct? For example if I have created a StandardShrp custom picture control and have that set in the Shooting Menu, then that picture control will apply to all of the mode dial modes - correct (vs. being able to save something for "M" only)?
Assuming thats the case, are there any Scene modes that have a neutral type setting with sharpness turned all the way down that might work? I hate to sacrifice one of my 2 custom settings for something I use infrequently.
