Hi All,

I am still using D200's and making a living with them but am looking at the D7000...Can anyone post or send me some images at say ISO 800 from both cameras ?

Just how much better noise performance and DR can I expect from the D7000 vs D200 ?

Now having both cameras, I would say ISO800 with the D7000 is still in the 'don't worry about it' category. Perhaps equivalent to ISO250 or maybe ISO320 on the D200. Easily corrected with mild noise reduction.

DR and color hold up really well at the higher ISO's as well. Much better than the D200.

EDIT:
For what it's worth, I looked at my latest Lightroom3 ISO defaults between the cameras. Not a direct photo comparison, but here's the Luminance NR values I independently selected for each camera.

ISO D200 D7000

1600 45 25
3200 60(H1) 40
6400 45
12800(H1) 50
25600(H2) 60

From this example, I'm giving the D7000 a 2-stop advantage on noise.
