I am trying to shoot some landscaping at the night time on a tripod. however when i view the live view, the picture is very dark as compared to what i see in my naked eyes and other cameras. I notice that other nikon and brands cameras doesnt have this kind of darkness. How can i set it?

Welcome to the Nikonians. In the D7000 manual look on page 49. It tells you how to set the monitor brightness.
If your live view monitor looks normal in other situations, it may be that your IOS, shutter speed or aperture are too low for proper exposure of the night time photos. Take a photo when the monitor is "dark" and check the EXIF data to see what the ISO, shutter speed and aperture are at.
If for example, your ISO is 100, shutter speed is 1/60th and your aperture is f8, you will most likely get a dark monitor at night.
