"Best plug in for LR 2"

US

Hi -- what is the best plug in for LR2? This would be for portraiture rather than landscape or other outdoor shots.
Thanks.

Wow, that's a wide open question right there!

What will you be using it for? That's probably the best point to answer first...

Are you just looking for presets? If so, I'd thoroughly recommend Gavin Seim's stuff. They're very good for the money and I have always found them to do a much better job than most of the freebies out there.

Good luck

Thanks for answering. I want to be able to make my portraiture look better -- a better way to soften skin, reduce noise, etc. I don't need it for landscapes as much as portraits of people. Since I have been researching, I have looked at Viveza 2 and Nik color Efex ? but they are kind of expensive. Someone said that the Nik filters are cheaper for LR than for PS. I will check out what you said. Anything other advice is appreciated.
Thanks

I think they have one plug-in package that work for both - same price. I got mine at pretty good discount a while back and I have just Lightroom 2 and PSE7 - no Photoshop CS, the plug-in seems to work on both. Though I rarely use PSE7.
Another plu-in worth looking at is On Plug-in. I have just the free download preset of that and it work quite nice for simple B&W & color toning, but in the free download you don't get the skin softening or glamor glow etc...

I agree that Protrait Professional is a good choice. It seems to accomodate economy and ease of use with efficient results. It works rather seemlessly from LR.
