"ACR for D7000"

Laguna Woods, US

Hi All,
Does anyone know when Adobe will provide a camera raw download for the D7000? Also, will that download be compatible with Elements 7?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Special K

They have to get their hands on a D7000 first. Then they have to reverse-engineer RAW files from it. Then they have to incorporate it to their release schedule. If the stars align, it could be as soon as a month or (guessing) as long as 4 months. My best guess is 6 weeks after the camera is out.

Unfortunately, NEF files from a Nikon D7000 will not be compatible with Photoshop Elements 7 and Adobe will not provide an update to that version of ACR. You will have to go with Elements 9 or with the current release of some other post processing program like Lightroom 3.x, Nikon Capture NX2, Photoshop CS5, etc. One other alternative is to download the free Adobe DNG converter and convert the NEF files to the DNG format. Then you should be able to read them in Elements 7.
