"Lightroom bug?"

Saddle river, US

Part of my workflow is to Export as Catalog all the shots I've imported onto my laptop, and then to merge them onto the catalog on my desktop machine. This gives two copies in the house (plus two in the cloud using an Internet-based backup service).

When executing the Export yesterday, LR3 repeatedly stalled on the same image. Investigation showed that the 'negative' was missing, leaving the catalog entry pointing to nowhere. When I deleted the catalog entry for the image, the Export ran just fine.

I would expect LR to either skip the image or ask me if I wanted to find the negative file, not loop.

Is this a known problem? Is there a fix (other than ensuring the catalog doesn't have any broken links like this)?
