"Renaming in LR2"

Shenzhen (Expat, UK), CN

I am importing NEF raw files, then selecting them within LR to rename with dates and times from the EXIF data. No problem.

However, sometimes LR will stop the rename process and say it can't do one file and does not continue. If I select in small group and sometimes repeat a few times, it does it.

The first selection is no more than maybe 30 to 50 images.

Is this a bug, or am I doing something wong?

Many Thanks

Graeme

I don't know about Lightroom, but I do the same in the Browser of Photoshop CS4 and it will sometimes make errors if processing is going on in the background. If I wait for all image updating to complete before I rename the images all works correctly.

This sounds like one of 2 problems. First LightRoom has a limited processing buffer size or you need to allow more time for LightRoom to analyze the directory buffer.

Have you tried Adobe product support, knowledge base, or community forums.
