"Fill not available under Edit menu in PS CS6"

Tallahassee, US

My main post processing software has been LR for the last 2 yrs. I recently got PS CS5 and then CS6 to do local adjustments. One of the features that to me is incredible is Content Aware. I had no trouble with it in CS5, but with CS6 I've come to a snag. Once I use the Lasso tool to select the area I want to edit, I go to the Edit menu and then try to use Fill, but it is not available. I do the exact thing in CS5 and it is available. In both cases I am not working with multiple layers.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Mark

I'm not sure if CAF works on Background layer because I always use it on a copy (Ctrl J) of the BG layer (or any other layer I'm working on). Checklist: Your currently active layer is one of: Smart object layer? Locked layer? Empty layer (new with nothing on it)? Adjustment layer?

Regards, Antero

1- Lasso tool
2- Edit - Fill
Now look for the little diamond shaped down arrow for additional options.
3- Select Content Aware. The reason you didn't see it is that it wasn't the default setting.
