"Confused about point and shoot issues and camera problems"

I'm new to Nikonians so bear with me.

I want a good point and shoot with optical viewfinder. Top of my list is the Nikon P7100 (really wish the 7700 had the optical viewfinder), Canon G12, and Fuji X-10.

I'm looking for assurances that the Nikon lens error issues which were prevalent in the 7000 and some have reported with the 7100, have gone away.

Lots of Canon folks are seeing scratched lenses from the mechanism/blade when closing and opening the G12. And it seems like there is no way of knowing if you buy a Fuji that the orb issue is resolved with the one you end up with, or that Fuji will fix it if you are unlucky and get the old sensor.

Thoughts?

filmprof,

I have asked around the store to some other salespeople, and no one is familiar with any of the issues that you mentioned.

My best advice is to call the store at 800-262-4160 and speak to a salesperson.

Sorry I couldnt be more of a help.
