"D5000 and manual focus"

South Florida, US

I have a "chipped" Voigtlander 40/2 lens. How will it focus manually on the D5000?

Mechanically, you turn the focusing ring until you are satisfied with the focus. You can do this visually on the ground glass, or you can use the focus assist dot that's in the lower left corner of the viewfinder.

If you mean how easy is it to do that, I suspect it depends a lot on your eyes. As an example, my 50-year-old eyes aren't up for that task without magnification, but my daughter doesn't seem to have any problems with the same camera and lenses.
