This is for the D3100, D3200, D5100 and D5200 DSLRs, as well as the Coolpix P7700; the D5300, P7800 and Df already support it.

The EN-EL14a packs 8.9 Wh, compared to 7.7 Wh for the regular EN-EL14. This changes CIPA numbers when using the new batteries:

D3100: 620, up from 550
D3200: 600, up from 540
D5100: 700, up from 660
D5200: 540, up from 500
P7700: 360, up from 330

So, not a huge improvement, but for those of us who only use Nikon branded batteries, a nice bump in performance.
