"D3200 wide screen mode?"

CA

Hi,
Just starting out with my new D3200 and I like it a lot.
Took around couple thousand pictures playing with different settings. I like to create little movies from the pics and then display them on my TV. The only options for picture size that I found are: 24Mpix / 12Mpix? / 6Mpix. All of which are in 4:3 format. I don't see a menu setting for different formats (aspect rations).

Obviously I want 1 for the TV. I looked through the menus and in the manual and couldn't find it. Right now I crop each picture (in Paint.net) to the HD format which is a pain.

Is there not a widescreen setting for the pictures in the camera.

Thanks,
Tom

Thanks Marty.
Find it a little strange they didn't provide the option given that this is an entry level consumer DSLR. Oh well, back to cropping my pictures I guess.

I'm not sure Nikon does so on any camera . Now the D3200 does take movies as well.
And you can adjust frame Rate 60, 30, 24; you can turn on and off the built-in mic; As well as, adjust the shape size: 640x480, 320-240 and so on.

There is a 16 to 9 aspect ratio crop option in the retouch menu in trim mode. I think it goes pretty quickly. The crop gets saved to your SD card. I don't know how quick your crop is in Paint.net though. Give it a try and see how it works out.
